What is a Blog?
“Blog” originated as a slang for “web log.” A blog is a place where you put your experiences, thoughts and ideas that you have learned or learning in your life journey. Wikipedia says that a blog is a discussion or informational website published on the World Wide Web consisting of discrete, often informal diary-style text entries. Simply, a diary entry that you post on the web. There are so many websites and tools that you can begin with for blogging like WordPress, Wix, Medium, Blogger, Squarespace etc.
The Idea and How it started
We all bring our own magic and uniqueness into the world. Our goal should be to discover what that is, embrace it and share it. I started blogging to share my views, my thoughts, and the chaos that run through my mind.
I never thought of blogging this consistently until I bought a domain out of nowhere. I used to write on Blogger two years back, and before that I never liked writing because it took so much time and energy to write a good piece that people actually wanted to read. Honestly, it takes hours to research and write a blog that just takes 2-3 minutes to read.
It took a pandemic to make me start my own blog that is hosted on my own domain. If the lockdown had not happened and if I was enrolled in a college, I would’ve never thought of blogging. It happened on May 9, when I bought the domain because I just wanted my website with my own identity. I had no idea what I was going to do next.
After hours pondering about what I could do with a website, I came upon the idea of creating a blog because that’s what I was doing for years. I was writing in diaries, journals, and in my notes. I never wrote so frequently, until I had that time to realize how much I could do in the lockdown. Hence, the blog came up. Now I can say that having a blog unthinkingly makes me write about things and there’s a great deal to be done and so much to learn. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Always start before you’re ready.
